Not filling — supporting lax tissue until it firms up.

GOURI is a liquid PCL (polycaprolactone) collagen booster developed by Dexlevo in Korea. Right after injection it forms a scaffold — a supporting structure — within lax, weakened tissue and holds it up immediately.

Fibroblasts then grow into this scaffold and produce collagen, making the dermis thicker and firmer. That is why GOURI’s tightening effect is far stronger than its volumizing effect.

At Serene Clinic we first find where tissue has become lax, then Dr. Kim Serim personally designs the areas, the layer, and how it combines with other lifting.

GOURI

What is GOURI?

GOURI is a collagen booster made from PCL (polycaprolactone) in liquid form. Once injected, it forms a mesh-like scaffold between tissues that immediately supports lax, weakened tissue.

The scaffold creates a good environment for fibroblasts to grow into; new collagen forms within it and the dermis gradually becomes thicker and firmer. It is injected with a cannula into the areas and layers that need it.

Rather than building bulk with particles, it strengthens the tissue’s structure, so tightening stands out more than volume. This is what most sets GOURI apart among collagen boosters.

DESIGN

Why the same one syringe can give different results

With GOURI, which tissue and which layer the scaffold is built in matter more than the total amount. Before injecting, Serene Clinic looks at the following.

01

Where tissue has become lax

Where tissue has lost its strength — cheeks, jawline, around the mouth — changes how the face appears to sag. We first find where support is needed.

02

Left–right difference in firmness

Most faces differ slightly in sagging and firmness from side to side. We do not inject the same amount on both sides; we adjust the split to the difference.

03

Dermal thickness and firmness

The thinner and weaker the dermis, the bigger the scaffold’s role. We set the layer and cannula direction area by area.

04

Sequencing with lifting

Where Xerf or Ultherapy tighten tissue with heat, GOURI holds that tissue up with a scaffold. When combined, we set the order and interval so the two effects build on each other.

ASSESSMENT

Facial assessment before injection

Before injecting, we look at why the tissue looks lax.

A sagging look often comes less from lost volume than from tissue that has lost its support. Depending on the cause, where and at which layer GOURI goes will differ.

What we check before injection

  • Where tissue has become lax
  • Dermal thickness and skin firmness
  • Left–right difference in firmness
  • Sagging that remains after lifting
  • Previous filler or stimulator history
  • How much change you want

When more anatomical detail is needed, we check soft tissue and vessel paths with ultrasound (Clarius) before deciding where to inject.

COMPARISON

GOURI vs other collagen boosters and filler

All three are injected into the face, but they work differently. GOURI differs most in that it builds a structure that supports tissue rather than filling bulk.

When GOURI fits best

If volume is not greatly lacking but the skin has become lax and thin, GOURI plays a larger role. If filling hollows is the main goal, Juvelook Volume or filler may suit better.

Within one face the answer can differ by area, so they are sometimes designed together. Which combination fits is decided after examination.

DOSAGE

GOURI 1 syringe · 2 syringes

Is one syringe enough?

One syringe can suit sagging limited to areas such as the cheeks or around the mouth, or when it supports tissue after a lifting treatment.

When are two or more considered?

When tissue is lax across the whole face, or the dermis needs strengthening over a wide area. Building up in sessions with intervals looks more natural than injecting a lot at once.

At Serene Clinic the number of syringes is the result of the design, not the goal. We decide the areas first, then suggest the amount.

COMBINATION

Our approach to combination treatment

Aging combines skin laxity with a thinning dermis, so we often design lifting and supporting treatments separately.

Sagging + weakened, lax tissue

Lift with Xerf or Ultherapy, then hold the tissue up with the GOURI scaffold.

Thinning skin · fine lines

Deliver GOURI into the skin layer with MiraJet or Potenza to strengthen the dermis.

Hollow areas

Fill hollows with Juvelook Volume or filler, and let GOURI support the surrounding tissue.

Left–right difference in firmness

We design different amounts and layers for each side.

The actual treatment plan is decided during consultation.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

01What is GOURI?

A tightening treatment in which a liquid PCL collagen booster is injected with a cannula to form a scaffold in lax tissue, supporting it immediately and making the dermis thicker and firmer.

02How is it different from other collagen boosters?

Many collagen boosters build collagen around particles to add volume. With GOURI, liquid PCL forms a scaffold between tissues that supports them immediately and lets fibroblasts grow into it — so its strength is tightening and a stronger dermis rather than volume.

03Does it add volume like filler?

Adding volume is not its main purpose. Its core effect is tightening by supporting tissue; if hollows need filling, we design filler or Juvelook Volume alongside.

04When will I see results?

Right after injection the scaffold gives a sense of support to lax tissue; the firmer dermis that comes as fibroblasts grow in develops over weeks to months. The degree and pace vary by person.

05What about pain and recovery?

Numbing cream and a cannula keep discomfort low. Swelling or bruising can last a few days; most people return to daily life right away.

06How many syringes will I need?

It depends on how widespread the lax tissue is and the left–right difference. Limited areas often start with one syringe; more is added in later sessions if needed.

07How much is GOURI at Serene Clinic?

Current GOURI options and prices are on the Volume Design page. The right amount is decided after consultation. See Volume Design prices

08Can international patients be treated?

Yes. Serene Clinic offers consultations in English, Chinese and Japanese, and you can request a booking directly on our website before visiting Seoul. Direct Booking for International Patients

CONSULTATION

Not sure whether to lift or to support?

You do not need to decide between GOURI, filler or lifting before you visit. The consultation is for finding together what truly needs support — and what is better left as it is.
